American energy infrastructure company. It specializes in owning and controlling oil and gas pipelines and terminals is hiring for a Chromatography Specialist. This is a contract assignment with the goal of transitioning to a direct employee with the client. The transition will depend on skill level, how well the individual works with the team and if they are able to perform the task required.
The contract assignment has no (PTO) paid time off (this includes no paid holiday and paid vacation). Contractors can request time off and take time off but please understand it’s not paid time off.
An ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with ABB 8206 and/or Emerson gas chromatographs. A laboratory professional with hands-on experience in instrument calibration, troubleshooting, method development, quality control, and inventory management. Known for improving lab efficiency, solving technical issues, and helping ensure accurate results while meeting deadlines and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.
The responsibilities will include:
• Troubleshooting chromatograph systems
• Providing field support
• Instructing training classes
• Leading audits
• Coordinating with vendors
• Managing projects related to the design, testing, and commissioning of new chromatograph installations
• Chromatograph commissioning
• Approximately 10–20% travel
Additional Information on the scope of work:
· The location will be - downtown Houston
· Work schedule- 2 options: Traditional 40-hour work week or 9/80 work schedule
· Will there be a monthly parking reimbursement for downtown- no reimbursement for parking as a contractor
· Any specific software experience- Excel, Word, Outlook are a must. Anything extra is a plus
· How long do you anticipate before this opportunity would transition to full-time with client-Depends on skill level, how well they work with our team and if they are able to perform the task required
· Pay will be competitive but based on experience
· Must pass drug screen and criminal background check
