Maintenance Technician

McLeskey & Associates, a well-established property management and real estate development company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. We are looking for a dependable, customer-focused individual who takes pride in maintaining high-quality apartment communities.

Our Maintenance Technicians play a vital role in protecting, maintaining, and enhancing our properties while providing exceptional service to our residents.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repairs, and inspections involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, carpentry, appliances, and other building components.
• Complete apartment make-ready work accurately and on schedule to prepare units for new residents.
• Respond promptly and professionally to resident service requests.
• Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues efficiently.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
• Communicate effectively with residents, vendors, supervisors, and fellow team members regarding work orders and completed repairs.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with additional duties and special projects as assigned.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergency maintenance, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in apartment or commercial property maintenance.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems; HVAC certification preferred.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, appliance, and general carpentry repairs.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday–Friday
• 8-hour shift
• Rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies

• Ability to commute to properties throughout the Hampton Roads area
• Ability to successfully work in a physically demanding environment

Work Location: In person at multiple property locations throughout Hampton Roads.
