Job Summary
Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Neurosurgeon with a subspecialty interest in Spine to join our surgical team. This position offers a dynamic practice environment, dividing operative time between Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) - a major tertiary referral and trauma centre, and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH). Completion of a recognized Neurosurgery residency program in Canada and fellowship training in spine surgery would be preferred.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative group of surgeons dedicated to providing high-quality neurosurgical care to the rapidly growing population of the Fraser Valley.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Practice: Maintain a robust surgical practice with a primary focus on complex and elective spinal pathology.
- Operative Time: Regular OR block allocation at both RCH | ERH.
- On-Call Coverage: Participation in the neurosurgery call rotation. Responsibilities consist primarily of spine call coverage, with occasional requirements for emergency cranial coverage.
- Collaboration: Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team of surgical colleagues, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Additionally, as a member of the Fraser Health medical staff, you will participate in the University of British Columbia (UBC) medical education program and are expected to apply for a clinical faculty appointment in the Division of Neurosurgery, UBC.
