Job description

Location: Greater Chicago, IL 

Travel Commitments: 50% 

Rapyuta Robotics is hiring a Project Manager capable of managing delivery of complex deployments of Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems, Pick Assistant Autonomous Mobile Robot system and building a scalable process of delivery for our US business. The team works closely with some of the premier enterprise customers in the US and, Canada, to build state-of-the-art robotics solutions by leveraging rapyuta.io, our cloud robotics platform, and the surrounding ecosystem. The team's mission is to pioneer scalable and flexible robotics solutions for the logistics industry 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Managing project schedule, budget, outputs, and customer satisfaction  
  • Leading execution until successful handover to operations team 
  • Analyzing customer requirements and working with developers for functional development 
  • Building an efficient delivery process for mass production 
  • Partnering closely with Japan (HQ) deployment teams to capture best-practice SOPs and localize them for US deployments (processes, safety, customer requirements) 
  • Traveling to project sites up to 50% of the time 

Requirements

Minimum qualifications 

  • At least 5 years of experience in project management in factory automation, logistics, electric devices, IT system integration, or automotive industries 
  • Understanding of software development and hardware development life cycle 
  • Strong ownership and drive for project delivery 
  • Ability to read and write technical documents in English  

Preferred qualifications 

  • Project management certifications 
  • Good understanding of safety regulations in automotive or industrial machinery industry and experience in risk assessments 
  • Good understanding of robotics or computer science 
  • Business level Japanese
