Job description
Job Description-Auto Body Painter/Safety Sensitive Position Summary The Auto Body Painter is responsible for refinishing, priming, sanding and buffing of body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership quality specifications and time standards. Coordinates work with other team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
- Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
- Mixes paint according to specifications. Tints color for proper match.
- Produces test panels when needed to obtain industry acceptable color match.
- Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate.
- Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags and unpainted areas.
- Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.
- Keeps work area clean.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Able to work flexible hours and be available to work extended hours to complete tasks as requested by management.
- Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
- The individual must maintain an acceptable driving record according to our insurance standards at all times.
- No employee or applicant should be under the influence of any substance including medical marijuana on-site or during work hours. Further, employees under the influence of are prohibited from undertaking any task that would constitute negligence or professional malpractice, and are prohibited from operating any type of powered vehicle or powered equipment - handheld or otherwise.
