Job description

Company: RMJ Consultant LLC
Location: Remote – United States
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $15/hour + Uncapped Commission
Schedule: Monday–Friday | U.S. Business Hours - CST

We are growing our sales infrastructure and looking for a confident, experienced High-Ticket Sales Closer who knows how to turn qualified conversations into paying clients.

This is a closing role—not an appointment-setting role.

RMJ has separate resources supporting lead generation, advertising, outbound prospecting, and appointment setting. Your primary responsibility is to take qualified opportunities, conduct strong sales conversations, follow up strategically, and close business.

What You'll Own

As RMJ's High-Ticket Sales Closer, you will be responsible for managing qualified sales opportunities from discovery through close.

You will:

  • Conduct scheduled sales consultations via phone and Zoom.
  • Lead strong discovery conversations to understand a prospect's business, financial challenges, goals, urgency, and service needs.
  • Identify the appropriate RMJ service based on the prospect's needs and established qualification criteria.
  • Clearly communicate the value of RMJ's services.
  • Confidently present high-ticket offers and ask for the sale.
  • Handle objections related to price, timing, trust, competing priorities, and decision-making.
  • Follow up consistently with qualified prospects who do not close during the initial conversation.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline of open sales opportunities.
  • Accurately document sales calls, outcomes, objections, next steps, and follow-up dates.
  • Maintain accurate sales status information in RMJ's designated CRM and/or sales tracker.
  • Coordinate clean handoffs of closed clients to RMJ's onboarding team.
  • Provide feedback to leadership and marketing regarding lead quality, common objections, lost-sale reasons, and sales opportunities.
  • Participate in call reviews, sales coaching, and weekly performance discussions.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of RMJ's services while recognizing when technical questions should be referred to the appropriate tax or funding professional.

What This Role Is NOT

We are not looking for someone whose primary experience is appointment setting.

This position is not primarily responsible for:

  • Cold calling large lists all day.
  • LinkedIn appointment setting.
  • Running advertising campaigns.
  • Generating marketing content.
  • Performing tax analysis.
  • Preparing tax returns.
  • Providing tax advice.
  • Completing client fulfillment work.
  • General administrative support.

You may support reasonable sales prospecting and follow-up when needed, but your primary responsibility is:

Qualified Opportunity → Sales Conversation → Follow-Up → Closed Client

Who We're Looking For

You do not need decades of sales experience.

You do need to demonstrate that you know how to close.

Required

  • 3+ years of professional sales experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience personally closing sales—not simply generating leads or booking appointments.
  • Proven ability to sell over the phone and/or Zoom.
  • Experience conducting discovery and consultative sales conversations.
  • Strong objection-handling skills.
  • Comfortable discussing pricing and asking prospects to make a buying decision.
  • Strong follow-up discipline.
  • Ability to manage multiple active opportunities without losing track of next steps.
  • Comfortable being measured against sales KPIs and revenue goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and confident presence when speaking with business owners and decision-makers.
  • Ability to learn professional service offerings and communicate their value without giving advice outside your expertise.
  • U.S.-based and available during required U.S. business hours.

Strongly Preferred

Experience selling:

  • High-ticket professional services.
  • Offers valued at $3,000+.
  • Tax or accounting services.
  • Financial services.
  • Business consulting.
  • Business funding.
  • Professional advisory services.
  • Other high-ticket B2B services.

Experience selling to business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, or high-income professionals is highly preferred.

Tax experience is a plus but is not required.

We care more about your ability to demonstrate a history of closing than having a specific tax background.

Compensation

$15/hour + uncapped commission

This role is designed for someone who wants a guaranteed hourly rate while also having the opportunity to substantially increase earnings based on sales performance.

Commission will be earned according to RMJ's established sales compensation plan and will be tied to eligible revenue from personally closed clients.

Full commission terms, eligibility requirements, payment timing, and applicable sales thresholds will be provided before employment.

There is no stated cap on commission earnings under the applicable compensation plan.

How Success Will Be Measured

This is a results-driven sales position.

Performance will be measured using KPIs such as:

  • Qualified appointments received.
  • Sales consultations completed.
  • Show rate.
  • Show-to-close conversion rate.
  • Revenue closed.
  • Collected revenue attributable to closed clients.
  • Average deal value.
  • Follow-up activity.
  • Follow-up conversion.
  • Pipeline health.
  • Lost-sale reasons.
  • Accuracy and completeness of sales records.
  • Quality of closed-client handoffs.

We don't measure success simply by how many calls you make.

The goal is revenue.

What a Strong Candidate Looks Like

You may be a strong fit if you can confidently say:

  • I've personally closed high-value services.
  • I'm comfortable speaking with business owners about money.
  • I know how to run a discovery conversation rather than simply read a script.
  • I can uncover the real reason behind an objection.
  • I know how to follow up without endlessly chasing prospects.
  • I'm comfortable asking someone to make a decision.
  • I understand that “let me think about it” doesn't automatically mean the sales process is over.
  • I keep my pipeline organized.
  • I'm comfortable having my numbers reviewed every week.
  • I'm motivated by commission and the opportunity to earn more when I produce more.

You may not be a good fit if:

  • Most of your experience is appointment setting rather than closing.
  • You are uncomfortable discussing pricing.
  • You need extensive training on basic sales fundamentals.
  • You avoid asking for the sale.
  • You dislike being measured against sales results.
  • You regularly leave follow-up to chance.
  • You're looking for a customer service position rather than a revenue-producing sales role.

First 60–90 Days

The initial period will focus on learning RMJ's services, understanding the sales process, reviewing existing sales conversations, and demonstrating your ability to convert qualified opportunities.

You will be expected to:

  • Complete RMJ service and sales-process training.
  • Understand the ideal client and qualification criteria for each assigned service.
  • Learn RMJ's sales tracking and handoff process.
  • Demonstrate consistent follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate sales records.
  • Participate in call reviews and coaching.
  • Demonstrate measurable progress toward established conversion and revenue expectations.

Continued success in the role will be based on both sales performance and consistent execution of RMJ's sales process.

Why Join RMJ?

RMJ is building a more structured and scalable sales organization.

We're investing in multiple lead-generation channels, appointment-setting support, better sales systems, and clearer operational handoffs so our closer can focus on what they do best: having strong conversations and closing the right clients.

If you're confident in your ability to close high-ticket professional services and want compensation that rewards production, we'd like to hear from you.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume along with brief answers to the following:

  1. What is the highest-priced service or product you have personally closed?
  2. What was the average deal size in your most recent closing role?
  3. Approximately how many qualified sales calls did you handle per week?
