DescriptionThe Test Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of our products. The role will work cross-functionally to identify and resolve defects and ensure that products meet performance, reliability and user experience standards.
- Derive / verify customer test specifications
- Maintain and utilize computer software programs for test data acquisition, reduction, plotting and tracking
- Plan and conduct tests of Diesel Engines, Cross drive transmissions, and other Powertrain equipment
- Write and maintain and make improvements to Renk test procedures and standards.
- Prepare test documentation and customer presentations.
- Design and specify control systems for test cell operation, test fixtures and test equipment including system design, software and sensor selection, panel lay-out and schematic development.
- Work with test technicians in the operation and maintenance / upgrade of test equipment.
- Introduce new concepts for test engineering.
- Work closely with internal test customers.
Level / pay for this position will be commensurate with education and experience.
Position Requirements- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field with 2 years prior related experience.
- Associates Degree in a Technical field with 6 year prior related experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Substantial experience with system control methodologies and technologies and the acquisition of electronic control system data.
- Demonstrated knowledge of test equipment and methods including data acquisition and instrumentation.
- User Level Experience with National Instruments Labview and OPTO 22 software/hardware systems.
- Experience post-processing data using Excel and/or MATLAB/Simulink preferred.
- Ability to work well with internal and external customers and Government representatives.
- Strong Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to get security clearance required.
- Must be able to move freely, with or without accommodation, throughout the manufacturing environment.
