Description

The Director of Sales - Environmental Waste leads the commercial strategy and execution for Quantix's Environmental Waste division, driving profitable revenue growth across hazardous and non-hazardous waste services. This role owns strategic customer relationships, market expansion, and cross-functional alignment to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions in a highly regulated environment. The Director combines sales leadership with operational oversight to ensure seamless execution across the full customer lifecycle-from opportunity development through service delivery and retention.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Commercial Strategy

  • Lead development and execution of growth strategies across environmental waste services, including transportation, equipment rental, recycling, and disposal.
  • Drive new business acquisition and expansion within existing accounts through deep understanding of customer waste streams and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with pricing team to align pricing strategies with market conditions, regulatory requirements, and margin targets.
  • Ensure effective pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and conversion performance via our established customer relationship management software system (Salesforce).

Strategic Account Leadership

  • Serve as executive sponsor for key strategic accounts, driving growth, retention, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for account management, including communication cadence, responsiveness, and issue resolution.
  • Lead development of strategic account plans focused on revenue growth, waste stream optimization, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Coach and develop sales and account management team members, fostering a high-performance, customer-centric culture.

Customer Relationship & Service Delivery

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships across customer organizations (EH&S, procurement, operations).
  • Act as senior escalation point for service issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal operational disruption.
  • Lead customer business reviews, performance reporting, and contract renewals.

Operational & Cross-Functional Execution

  • Ensure alignment between commercial commitments and operational execution across scheduling, transportation, and disposal activities.
  • Partner with operations and compliance teams to deliver scalable, compliant solutions.
  • Drive adherence to order-to-cash processes, including documentation accuracy, billing inputs, and service validation.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all activities comply with EPA, RCRA, DOT, and applicable regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, regulatory, and commercial risks.
  • Champion a culture of safety and compliance across all customer engagements.

Financial Performance & Analytics

  • Own revenue growth, margin performance, and profitability across assigned accounts and service lines.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs including volume, service mix, pricing, and account profitability.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting and pipeline visibility to senior leadership.

Strategic Partnerships & Industry Engagement

  • Develop and manage relationships with disposal facilities, recycling partners, and carriers.
  • Identify partnerships that expand service capabilities and geographic reach.
  • Represent Quantix in industry forums and stay current on regulatory and market trends.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in environmental services, waste management, or industrial logistics, including leadership responsibility.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing strategic accounts in a regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling and regulatory frameworks (EPA, RCRA, DOT).
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across sales, operations, and compliance.
  • Strong financial acumen and data-driven decision-making capability.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with waste profiling, manifesting, and disposal coordination.
  • Background in high-growth or private equity-backed environments.
