Description
Job Title: Director of Connected Living Experience
Reports to: Executive Director
FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt
Position Summary:
As the Director of Connected Living Experience reporting directly to the Executive Director, you are responsible for the overall leadership, operations, and success of the Connected Living neighborhood. You will oversee all aspects of the resident experience, team leadership, hospitality, dining experience, lifestyle programming, and daily operations while fostering meaningful relationships among residents, families, and team members.
Serving as the operational leader of the Connected Living neighborhood, you are accountable for the day-to-day management of the department, including staffing, scheduling, team development, operational excellence, and resident satisfaction. You will work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing on all clinical matters to ensure residents receive exceptional care while creating individualized experiences that promote independence, purpose, dignity, and joy. As a member of the community leadership team, you will partner with all departments to ensure the Connected Living neighborhood operates as an integrated part of the community and delivers an exceptional experience for residents and families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the overall operations and resident experience for the Connected Living neighborhood.
  • Create a welcoming, engaging, and hospitality-driven culture that promotes dignity, independence, purpose, and meaningful living.
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and development for all Connected Living associates.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate department team members.
  • Manage daily staffing operations, including scheduling, responding to call-offs, and ensuring appropriate staffing coverage to meet resident needs.
  • Partner with the Director of Health and Wellness on resident care, clinical needs, care planning, behavioral support, and regulatory compliance while ensuring seamless collaboration between clinical and operational services.
  • Develop individualized resident experiences based on each resident's history, preferences, abilities, and interests.
  • Build trusted relationships with residents and families by maintaining open communication and conducting regular resident and family satisfaction meetings (ENCIRCLE).
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the dining experience within the Connected Living neighborhood in partnership with the Director of Culinary Experience.
  • Partner with the Director of Life Experience to deliver engaging, person-centered programming and meaningful experiences for Connected Living residents.
  • Collaborate with all community departments to ensure coordinated services, operational excellence, and an exceptional resident and family experience.
  • Manage departmental budgets, labor, supplies, and resources while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  • Monitor quality outcomes, resident satisfaction, and department performance, implementing continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, and Provision Living standards.
  • Ability to work evenings, holidays, weekends and flexible hours as needed to support resident care and services including participating in the clinical on call rotation and sharing the Manager on Duty responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
  • Required - Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and a minimum of 4 year(s) related experience and/or training
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and be able to operate a community vehicle (bus/van). Employment may be subject to a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
  • Preferred - Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university and a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training
  • Preferred - Specialized education, certification, or training in dementia care. Examples include, but are not limited to:
  • Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP)
  • Certified Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT)
  • Montessori Dementia Care Professional
  • Positive Approach to Care (PAC) certification or equivalent dementia care methodology
  • Teepa Snow Positive Approach to Care training
  • Dementia Capable Care or equivalent evidence-based dementia education

Required Travel:
Travel is occasionally required for training, meetings, or company events.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires regular physical activity in a senior living environment. Candidates must be able to:
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 80 pounds of pressure may be placed on the associate through transfers using transfer belts or mechanical assists.
  • Stand, walk, and maintain a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Bend, squat, kneel, and move freely throughout the community.
  • Ascend and descend stairs or ramps as needed.
  • Position self to reach, operate, or adjust equipment above or below normal standing height.
  • Perform repetitive movements and tasks including grasping and fine manipulation.
  • Exposure to and ability to use cleaning chemicals and other equipment as part of routine duties.

Must be comfortable working in an environment that may involve exposure to infectious diseases and varying noise levels.
