Providence Health Clinic is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant to join our primary care team in Joliet, Illinois. Work Environment

This position is onsite at our hospital facility in Joliet, where the working environment encourages teamwork and mutual support among healthcare professionals. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, with 40-hour work weeks concluding at 5:00 PM. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess patient health histories to develop accurate diagnoses.
  • Order and analyze diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and imaging studies, to understand patients' health conditions.
  • Diagnose illnesses and health conditions, developing treatment plans for both chronic and acute cases.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments, ensuring patients understand their treatment regimens.
  • Maintain meticulous records of patient care, documenting health assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up activities.
  • Inform patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures in a clear and compassionate manner.
  • Educate patients on wellness practices, disease prevention, and the management of their chronic conditions.
  • Collaborate with our team of healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care and improve treatment outcomes.
  • Engage in continued education and participate in research initiatives to enhance clinical knowledge and practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will predominantly work with a diverse patient population, addressing various health concerns, including chronic diseases, common infections, and preventive care needs. Our clinic serves patients across age groups and backgrounds, providing the candidate with a rich and varied practice experience that prioritizes holistic patient care.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field.
  • A valid California State Physician Assistant license.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and possession of a current DEA number.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within primary care, acute care, or urgent care.
  • Strong knowledge of health and patient care regulations, as well as ethical standards in medical practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage patient interactions with patience, compassion, and professionalism.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional education and clinical skill advancement.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in primary care, family health, internal medicine, or emergency medicine.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
