New York, NY

Full-time

Re-posted 19 days ago

Job description

Our client, a global middle market investment bank, is actively seeking a Vice President for its Consumer team. The group advises clients across retail, consumer products, food & beverage, beauty, wellness, and e-commerce, and is recognized for its deep sector expertise, long-standing relationships with corporate clients, founders, entrepreneurs, and private equity sponsors, as well as its strong execution track record across strategic advisory and transaction services.

The Vice President will play a leadership role in the execution and management of M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory assignments, while working closely with senior bankers and serving as a key point of contact for clients throughout the transaction process. The role offers significant responsibility across transaction execution, client management, business development, and team leadership.

Key responsibilities include leading day-to-day execution of live transactions; overseeing the development of complex financial models, valuation analyses, and operating models; managing the preparation of pitch books, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and other client materials; coordinating due diligence processes and transaction timelines; managing communications among clients, counterparties, legal advisors, and internal teams; and supporting negotiations and closing activities. Vice Presidents are also expected to contribute meaningfully to business development initiatives, maintain and strengthen client relationships, and mentor and develop junior team members, including Analysts and Associates.

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of relevant investment banking experience, preferably within consumer, retail, or broader industry coverage groups, with substantial experience executing M&A and capital markets transactions. Candidates should possess advanced financial modeling and valuation skills, including expertise in DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and LBO modeling, as well as a strong understanding of transaction processes and client advisory work.

Exceptional project management, leadership, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and operate effectively in a fast-paced, client-driven environment. A demonstrated interest in consumer trends and markets, strong commercial judgment, and a proactive, collaborative mindset are highly preferred. Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
