Check out our job openings and advance your career with a company that values its team members!LOCATION: 244 Westchester Ave., White Plains, NY, 10604HOURS: 40/weekFULL TIME: Benefits EligibleIn this role, you will:Performs tasks normally associated with supervision such as hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, directing and appraising the work of assigned staffWill be a working supervisor role in which the incumbent will also perform the work of those supervisedThis position has direct reportsHold regularly scheduled one on ones with direct reports on at least a monthly basisIs an advocate for direct reports regarding ensuring ideas are heard/shared and in their career progression planning and effortsMaintain accurate records.Adhere to laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, and maintain a clean and well-organized work area.Maintain proficiency and training requirements.Ensure compliance with all local, federal and CLIA regulations.Participate in inventory management, special projects and perform other duties as assigned by management.Assist in staff development and training.Assists the Lab Manager in the maintenance/upkeep of CLIA documentation and records (including supervising/verifying completion of daily records and tracking documents), and preparation for CAP and NYS/CLIA inspections.Communicate with pathologists regarding laboratory issues, client’s needs, and respond quickly and efficiently to concerns/feedback regarding histology within the lab.Track and monitor laboratory quality indicators.Answer technical questions from pathologists and clients regarding lab processes and histology workflows.Independently and proactively identify problems in the laboratory and institute appropriate corrective actions.Ensure operational compliance with the laboratory’s SOPs and Quality Management Systems.Exercise all laboratory safety precautions and adhere to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.All you need is:Possesses an Associate degree in Histology, Biology, Chemistry or other related field, a Bachelor degree is preferred; degree must satisfy the CLIA standards for Grossing Surgical Specimens (12 course hours of Biology and Chemistry combined)5 or more years experience in the histology fieldHold and maintain the HT or HTL (ASCP) certification.May accept additional education and/or experience in lieu of certification when certification is not a jurisdictional requirement for the jobStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to work well independently and in a team environmentMust be detail-oriented and have high integrity and disciplineTime management skills to prioritize and meet deadlinesBasic computer competencySalary Range: $90,000.00 to $130,000.00 per hour. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.Sonic Healthcare USA, reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
