Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our rehabilitation facility in Denton, where you will work primarily Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Our clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation technology, including specialized exercise machines and therapeutic modalities designed to enhance recovery. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team that encourages sharing knowledge and practices to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Sports Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' physical capabilities and individual needs to establish personalized treatment objectives.
  • Implementing a variety of therapeutic interventions, such as manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities like ultrasound and electrical stimulation, to aid in patient recovery.
  • Developing comprehensive education plans for patients and their families, explaining treatment options, exercises, and effective self-care strategies to foster independence.
  • Creating sport-specific strength and conditioning programs tailored to enhance athletic performance and facilitate safe return to sports.
  • Collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes, ensuring a team-based approach to rehabilitation.
  • Staying abreast of advancements in physical therapy practices, guidelines, and interdisciplinary terminology to enhance personal knowledge and clinical skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily consists of athletes at various levels, from youth sports participants to professional athletes. You will work with individuals dealing with a range of injuries, including but not limited to, ligament tears, muscle strains, and joint issues. Our focus is on helping these individuals recover swiftly and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing their performance potential.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Texas.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
  • At least two years of professional experience in physical therapy, particularly in sports performance and rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Proactive attitude towards patient care, with a strong commitment to helping clients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Preferred Experience

While not required, candidates with certifications in sports medicine, strength and conditioning, or specialized training in advanced therapeutic techniques will be highly regarded. Experience using modern physical therapy modalities and techniques in a clinical setting will also be beneficial.
