Role Description As an Independent Courier (1099 Contractor) at Pro Med EXpress Couriers, you will be responsible for picking up, transporting, and delivering packages, documents, and other items in and around East Hartford, CT. This is a per diem, on-site role that involves following assigned routes, adhering to schedules, and maintaining clear communication with dispatch and clients. Day-to-day tasks include verifying delivery details, securing items properly, obtaining required signatures or confirmations, and documenting deliveries using mobile or handheld devices. You will also be expected to maintain a clean, reliable vehicle, comply with safety and transportation regulations, and provide courteous, professional service at each stop. As an independent contractor, you will manage your own time and vehicle-related expenses while supporting consistent, high-quality delivery operations.
Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and represent the company positively.
• Experience or familiarity with logistics management and transportation, including route planning, punctuality, and adherence to delivery protocols.
• Background in training or willingness to learn and follow company procedures, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of or experience in food & beverage delivery or handling time-sensitive materials is beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable, insured vehicle suitable for courier work.
• Ability to lift and carry packages as required, and to work on-site in and around East Hartford, CT for full-time hours.
• Strong attention to detail, basic technology skills (e.g., smartphone apps, GPS), and dependable time management.
• Prior courier, delivery, or transportation experience is a plus; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
