Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting initial assessments and evaluations for individuals, couples, and families to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.
  • Providing therapy sessions that focus on various issues such as alcohol abuse, grief and loss, family conflicts, and communication difficulties, both individually and in group settings.
  • Facilitating sessions that help clients navigate blended family dynamics, divorce adjustments, and conflicts among family members.
  • Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions and regularly tracking client progress to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Documenting treatment plans and maintaining accurate records in compliance with clinical best practices and ethical guidelines.
  • Participating in ongoing clinical supervision and team meetings to enhance clinical skills and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will encompass a diverse range of client demographics, including adults, adolescents, and families. You will be equipped to handle various presenting concerns, from mental health challenges tied to job stress and medical issues to navigating interpersonal conflicts. Qualifications
  • A valid and active license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia.
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with a range of family dynamics and psychological issues affecting couples and families.
  • Familiarity with telehealth practices and tools to deliver effective therapy sessions remotely.
  • Previous involvement in developing community mental health initiatives will be advantageous.
  • A flexible schedule allowing for varied availability of 30 hours or more per week is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
