Job description


Salary Range:$83,707.78 - $83,707.78
Works under the general supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager to maintain a high standard of excellence for the 911 Center. Conducts quality improvement case reviews on 911 calls. Utilizes AQUA to initiates and implements random and focused case reviews by listening to recorded audio and track performance. Compares the Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) performance to the most current International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) performance standards to determine protocol compliance, identify improvement in performance, and monitor adherence to performance of telecommunicator CPR. Assists with on-the-job training of new Emergency Dispatch Quality Improvement's (ED-Q). Prepares individual and Shift and Agency reports as requested by the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager. Monitors trends in performance and alerting management of concerns or the need for focus training. Identifies training gaps to aid individual improvement and the overall EMD training program. Gathers phone audio, radio traffic, radio reports and computer aided dispatch (CAD) logs as requested by the QA manager. Participates in the Dispatch Quality Assurance Committees. Assists with the IAED Center of Excellence reaccreditation process. Assists the Firefighter/Paramedic Quality Assurance Analyst with the compilation of detailed and accurate false alarms reports. Provides technical assistance to front line staff via email and/ or telephone. Performs audits related queries from the records management system in preparation for sending required information to the Office of the State Fire Marshall and the U.S Fire Administration. Reviews the NFIRS reports for common errors and ensure modules and narratives are accurate.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with staff and the public. Requires ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, other employees, and others outside division and city government. Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an office environment and involves extensive contact with all division employees, supervisors, and management. Frequent travel to various city work locations.
Qualifications
High school graduate and three (3) years' experience as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher or Fire Alarm Operator III or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform to the essential job functions. Must maintain a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment. Working knowledge of 911 call taking and dispatching best practices preferred.
