The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Manager to oversee day-to-day plant operations in the Austin market. This individual will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and leading and developing a talented production team.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management:

  • Direct and coordinate daily plant operations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Monitor workflow and production schedules to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain an organized, efficient, clean, and safe working environment.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Communicate regularly with employees regarding active jobs, production priorities, schedules, and operational issues.
  • Communicate production progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, sales, and delivery teams to ensure seamless coordination throughout the organization.

Scheduling & Quality Control:

  • Schedule and prioritize work to meet customer requirements, production deadlines, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor production processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and service.
  • Address production issues promptly and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Interview, train, coach, and manage plant personnel.
  • Build and maintain a highly trained, motivated, and accountable team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and address employee performance, attendance, and development needs.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production requirements.
  • Monitor and manage raw material inventory.
  • Support accurate handling of transactions and related administrative responsibilities.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure employees follow established safety procedures and company guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, secure, and professional facility.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends, as business needs require.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, and other company activities as scheduled.
  • Ensure work areas, equipment, and company vehicles are maintained in a clean and secure condition.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the printing industry, preferably in a production or supervisory/management capacity.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-management experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain an orderly workflow in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends when necessary.
