Prime staffing is hiring for a Cashier to work out of our Meat Market in Hesperia.

This position works in a busy meat market and may involve exposure to refrigerated or cold areas, raw meat products, and food-production activities. Employees are expected to follow all company food-safety, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace-safety requirements.

Job Summary

Responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing customer purchases and payments, and coordinating meat orders for pickup or delivery. This position requires strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy meat market environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, credit/debit card, and other payments.
• Prepare and provide customers with receipts and correct change.
• Enter and process customer meat orders accurately.
• Answer phones and take customer orders and requests.
• Coordinate and dispatch orders for customer pickup or delivery.
• Communicate with butchers, packers, drivers, and other employees regarding orders and special requests.
• Verify orders for accuracy, including product, quantity, packaging, and customer information.
• Organize completed orders and ensure they are ready for pickup or delivery on time.
• Handle customer questions, concerns, and order changes professionally.
• Maintain a clean and organized cashier and dispatch area.
• Balance the cash register and report any discrepancies to management.
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, customer service, dispatch, or retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to accurately handle money and customer orders.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Basic computer and telephone skills.
• Ability to work well with customers and coworkers.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred depending on the customer base.
