The Materials Manager oversees the efficient management and planning of raw materials, finished goods, packaging materials, and maintenance supplies. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and coordinating materials planning to ensure smooth operational workflows. Typically managing a small team of 1-5 members, the Materials Manager works closely with suppliers on an occasional basis and reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels to optimize stock and minimize shortages
• Plan and coordinate the procurement of materials required for production
• Maintain accurate records of raw materials, finished goods, packaging, and maintenance supplies
• Supervise a small team to ensure material handling efficiency
• Communicate occasionally with suppliers to coordinate orders and deliveries
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to align materials management with operational goals
