- Greet customers warmly, listen to their description of vehicle symptoms, and help identify mechanical problems.
- Prepare detailed Repair Orders by outlining symptoms, probable causes, and required services.
- Develop transparent price quotes, calculate costs for parts and labor, and process customer deductibles or warranty coverage.
- Set realistic turnaround times and manage customer expectations for vehicle repairs.
- In-depth understanding of automotive systems, terminology, and technical jargon to effectively translate mechanics' findings to customers.
- Obtain the customer's signature and formal authorization to proceed with the work.
- Coordinate with the parts department or suppliers to ensure necessary replacement parts are ordered and on hand.
- Continuously monitor repair progress and notify the customer if unexpected problems or additional costs arise.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems, CRM tools, and shop management software. Currently using Tekmetric.
