Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including obtaining detailed medical histories, performing comprehensive physical examinations, and conducting necessary diagnostic evaluations such as lab tests and imaging studies.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each patient, prioritizing their health outcomes.
• Perform minor surgical procedures and various interventions, such as suturing or incision and drainage, under the supervision of attending physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout each procedure.
• Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle changes, empowering them to participate actively in their own care and promote overall wellness.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using our electronic health record (EHR) system, documenting patient encounters clearly and thoroughly to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and seniors presenting with various acute illnesses and injuries. Your role is crucial in delivering timely care and establishing trust with patients who may be experiencing anxiety or discomfort during their urgent care visits.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Strong clinical skills demonstrated by your ability to work independently and within the established scope of practice.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that foster strong patient relationships.
• A commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, with a focus on health maintenance and disease prevention.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an urgent care setting is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in performing common urgent care procedures, including but not limited to splinting, wound care, and basic orthopedics.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical documentation practices.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges between $120,000 and $150,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
