Work Environment

You will be working onsite at our facility located in Rochester, NY. The center is equipped with modern technology and a supportive staff, allowing for an efficient workflow and seamless patient interactions. The work hours are Monday through Friday, with shifts primarily starting at 5:00 PM, aligning well with the needs of our evening and weekend patients. This full-time position comprises 40 hours each week in a vibrant setting that promotes collaboration and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant, you will be responsible for a wide range of patient care activities, including but not limited to:

• Conducting thorough patient evaluations and obtaining detailed medical histories to inform diagnosis and treatment decisions.
• Ordering, interpreting, and explaining the results of diagnostic tests such as blood tests and X-rays for patients of varying age groups.
• Diagnosing and managing acute medical conditions, creating individualized treatment plans to address both immediate and ongoing healthcare needs.
• Prescribing and monitoring medications, ensuring patients understand the rationale and purpose of their prescriptions.
• Maintaining comprehensive and accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations, enabling optimal continuity of care.
• Providing patient education regarding disease management, preventive health strategies, and health maintenance practices.
• Promoting wellness and preventive measures, such as vaccinations and routine screenings, to enrich community health.
• Actively engaging in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in healthcare and research advancements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The physician assistant role at Premicare Urgent Center primarily serves a diverse population ranging from young children to elderly patients. Many individuals present with acute illnesses, minor injuries, as well as chronic conditions requiring ongoing management. As such, your approach to personalized care will be essential in optimizing overall patient health outcomes.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A valid California State Physician Assistant License (PA-C) is required.
• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field.
• DEA registration is mandatory for this position.
• Demonstrated capability in clinical settings, particularly in primary and urgent care environments.
• Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Strong ethical standards and a commitment to providing a patient-centered care experience.
• The ability to function collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining an independent work ethic.
• Cool-headedness and patience in high-pressure situations, ensuring the best care is always prioritized.

Preferred Experience

Experience in emergency rooms, clinics, or urgent care settings is highly valued, ideally with a specialty in primary care practices. Additionally, candidates with bilingual skills may find further advantages in our diverse patient interactions.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this full-time position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, dependent on experience and skill level.
