Job Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Manager oversees all inbound and outbound logistics operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This role is responsible for managing daily shipping and receiving activities, supervising personnel, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating closely with internal teams, customers, and vendors, and helping ensure equipment and facility assets remain operational. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable leading in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Hours

6:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday. 7am-11am Fridays

Key ResponsibilitiesShipping & Receiving Operations

Manage all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished goods.

Process Improvement

Develop, implement, and continuously improve shipping and receiving processes to reduce errors, improve turnaround time, and increase efficiency.

Inventory Management

Maintain accurate inventory records, oversee material flow, and ensure proper storage, labeling, and tracking of parts and skids.

Documentation & Systems

Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, and system entries.

Communication

Serve as a key point of contact between production, quality, customers, carriers, and vendors to resolve logistics issues quickly.

Problem Resolution

Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, shortages, and mis-shipments.

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

Monitor shipping and receiving equipment, forklifts, carts, docks, racking, and facility assets. Identify maintenance needs, perform basic troubleshooting when appropriate, coordinate repairs, and assist with preventative maintenance efforts to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

Safety & Compliance

Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics management (manufacturing environment preferred).
• Strong computer skills and experience with logistics, inventory, or ERP software systems.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to identify equipment issues, troubleshoot minor problems, and coordinate repairs.
• Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment preferred.
• Understanding of preventative maintenance practices and equipment reliability.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse and material handling equipment.
