What You Will Do
You will be the person on the ground who owns project execution from kickoff to closeout. That means showing up at the plant, making sure the right materials are there on time, keeping contractors moving, and being the face of Dobbins with customers and when something needs a decision. Specifically:
- Own the full lifecycle of sanitary processing projects: schedule, budget, materials, contractor management, customer relations, and closeout.
- Travel to customer plants (food, beverage, dairy, pharma) across the Southeast to oversee installs, walk-throughs, and progress reviews.
- Coordinate procurement and logistics for project materials, including fittings, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, etc. Make sure nothing is the bottleneck.
- Manage outside contractors and trades on site. Hold them to schedule, quality, and safety.
- Build the customer relationship in person. You are the Dobbins customer interface while the project is running.
- Spot and sell follow-on work. If the customer needs parts, upgrades, or another project, you should be the first to know and the first to quote. You should be proactive in being able to spot customer needs and how Dobbins can be their full solution partner.
- Run weekly project reviews with our sales team and operations leadership. Flag risks early, not late.
- Help us build the playbook. We are scaling project services, and the systems you put in place will become how we run.
What You Bring (Required)
- 5+ years as a Project Manager with industrial/sanitary processing equipment. You should be able to walk a plant floor and talk fluently about sanitary design, CIP/SIP, 3-A, and ASME BPE.
- Comfortable with 80%+ travel. You should already be living this lifestyle or actively want to.
- Proven track record running multiple concurrent projects on schedule and on budget.
- Strong communicator with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
Nice to Have
- Trade license or technical certification (mechanical, electrical, welding, GC, etc.).
- Direct experience selling project add-ons, change orders, or parts to the customers you manage.
- Procurement and vendor management background, including schedules of values, lead time negotiation, and expediting.
- Familiarity with food and beverage GMP environments.
What We Offer
- Base salary of $95,000 to $115,000 based on experience.
- Project completion bonus tied to on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Per diem on travel days, lodging fully covered.
- Health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
- Real autonomy. You will not be micromanaged. You will be expected to deliver.
- A seat at the table as we build out a service and project business that does not exist yet at our competitors.
