Business Analyst - Finance
Pay Range: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to play a key role in building and scaling our Insurance Accounting System. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how core financial systems evolve-driving both new feature development and enhancements to existing functionality.
In this role, you'll translate business needs into clear, actionable documentation for developers and QA teams, while also creating user-focused materials that support broader application functionality. You'll work at the intersection of technology and finance, helping ensure solutions are both technically sound and aligned with business objectives.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of analytical rigor, creativity in system design, and a strong understanding of financial processes. Success in this role requires the ability to connect complex technical requirements with real-world business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
• Managing the software development pipeline from feature prioritization to coordinating deployment to production.
• Responsible for writing detailed Acceptance Criteria and building a library of use cases.
• Backlog refinement and prioritization utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps in collaboration with business sponsors, product solutions, development teams and project managers that align to client and business objectives.
• Manage reprioritization and negotiations between stakeholders as needed. Collaborate with Product Owners when sequencing requirements are cross-workstreams.
• Collaborate with project management to keep them informed on software development as it relates to critical projects to ensure the delivery plans are executed against agreed milestones.
• Demonstrate strong collaboration with others and high emotional intelligence to build productive and strategic relationships.
• Understand the business functions, clients and products to think strategically, effectively lead the team through change and solution issues.
Requirements:
• A College or University degree and relevant proven work experience.
• Extensive experience in technical business analysis in the fintech industry.
• Significant experience leading software development teams in the development of software applications.
• Proficiency in project management software such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Ability to design and maintain technical documentation.
• Significant experience working with Agile methodologies and SDLC.
• Exceptional communication skills toward facilitating the use of new software systems.
