Overview
NOTE: This role is hybrid requiring 3 days on-site at our office in Allentown, PA. #LI-Hy #INDPPL
This position provides leadership and direction to ensure attainment of business goals and objectives in the
following areas:
1.PPL Electric's regulatory strategy and overall industry policy positions;
2. Certain regulatory filings submitted to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) and Federal Energy
Regulation Commission (FERC);
3. All aspects of rates and rate-related revenue, including, but not limited to rate cases, rate design and
administration, PPL Electric's cost of service implementation, other cost recovery mechanisms;
4. Forecasting for rates and business planning.
5. All aspects of procurement of wholesale generation supply for PPL Electric's default service responsibility.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • The Senior Manager-Regulatory is responsible for:
    • In partnership with the appropriate business functions, develop and persuasively advocate company
      positions to regulatory agencies, policymakers, and key stakeholders in support of the Company's business
      goals.
    • Develop Company positions and participate directly in the written and verbal presentation of said positions
      in Company Petitions, Comments, Reply Comments and other responses and inquiries to Commission
      requests, informal and formal, customer inquiries, data requests, Policy Statement, Tentative Orders, and
      other requests and proceedings of the regulatory agencies and other parties. Oversee processes and teams
      that may be subject matter experts participating in regulatory proceedings. Positions may be of a technical
      or non-technical nature and may be at varying levels of detail. Strong knowledge of engineering, operations,
      and customer services concepts and processes is imperative to success.
    • Oversight of submission of accurate and timely regulatory filings/information to the PUC and FERC to
      ensure compliance to requirements.
    • Providing expert testimony in regulatory proceedings before the PUC and other relevant agencies.
    • Oversee activities required to execute PPL Electric's responsibility for compliance with PUC requirements
      for a default service provider including development and execution of PPL Electric's procurement plan for
      wholesale generations supply for default service responsibility and administration of wholesale supplier
      contractual agreements, and PJM invoice processing.
    • Preparation of distribution rate case filings to the PUC, responses to rate case interrogatories, and
      responses to rate-related Commission and customer inquiries.
    • The control environment for regulatory cost recovery mechanisms, including accurate and timely filings
      and reporting to the PUC, performing and filing reconciliations, and ensuring appropriate tracking is
      implemented to ensure compliance to requirements.
    • Rate design and rate administration functions to support corporate revenue and financial performance
      objectives, including determining revenue and customer effects of new rate structures.
    • Responsible for rate-related revenue activities for PPL Electric including, but not limited to accounting,
      budgeting, forecasting, results reporting, monitoring and management for FERC and SEC reporting and
      disclosures, presentations for investors, regulatory agency reporting, and PPL leadership.
    • Developing a motivated team of professionals through the strengthening of a constructive culture in
      support of PPL Electric Utilities' business objectives.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree degree in a field related to finance, accounting, business, regulatory affairs, public
    affairs, or law.

Required Experience:
  • 10 years' experience working within energy company, preferably a regulated entity.
  • Knowledgeable in energy regulation and markets, energy procurement, contracts, financial instruments,
    accounting and financial statement analysis. Strong knowledge of how the energy industry works from
    generation to distribution.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply expertise in solving new and complex problems and developing innovative
    solutions. Effective decision-making skills.
  • MBA or master's degree.
  • Regulatory accounting experience.
  • Experience leading regulatory functions, including both internal resources and external regulatory
    consultants and directing non-regulatory teams through regulatory proceedings.
