Job description

Description

The BHT provides direct assistance to the Client in learning, using, and practicing the skills that are being developed. The BHT can work with the Client in the home, community, and school so that standardization of treatment occurs in all settings. The BHT works intensively to implement interventions that are defined in the Treatment Plan, allows the Client opportunities to practice these skills, and ensures that caregivers can provide the same intervention. The BHT maintains frequent contact with the lead clinician to quickly determine treatment revisions that may need to occur, relay the success of each intervention, progress made, and conscientiously collects data for team analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience/Education Requirement: (must meet one criteria)

  • 2 years experience in the provision of behavioral health

  • Have a high school diploma and have completed a 40 hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification (Ponessa provides access to this training certification program)

  • Have a certification as a BCaBA

  • Have a certification as an RBT

  • Have a certification as a BCAT

  • Have a behavior health certification or behavior analysis certification from an accredited school

Clearances: (Employee's must have the following clearances before servicing clients.)

  • PA State Child Abuse Clearance (Upon hire, prior to working with clients, and every year thereafter)
  • Pennsylvania State Criminal Background Check (Upon hire, prior to working with clients and every year thereafter)
  • FBI Clearance

Paid training, continuing education credits, and company equipment (i.e. tablets) are provided to eligible employees. Ponessa Behavioral Health provides postsecondary educational support through the Tuition Discount Program and is a Pennsylvania Loan Repayment Program (LRP) Practitioner approved site.

*The Registered Behavior TechnicianTM (RBT®) is a nationally recognized paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in areas such as delivering direct behavior-analytic services, aiding in implementing behavior plans which are developed by the BCBA or BCaBA, and collecting data. Completing this 40 hour course covering the 2nd edition task list is only one component required in order to apply for certification.
