Brief Description
ABOUT THE JOB
The Engineering Supervisor provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for the Engineering Division within the Public Works Department. This role is responsible for managing a team of professional engineers, and technicians to ensure the safe, efficient, and sustainable development of county infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
As a key leader, you will bridge the gap between high-level policy and technical execution, ensuring all projects comply with Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS), environmental regulations, and county standards.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and seven (7) years engineering/planning experience, with two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
REQUIRED SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
*Must possess and maintain a professional engineering license valid in the State of Oregon.
*Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license.

Polk County is located in the Willamette Valley just an hour from the Pacific Coast to the west and an hour from Portland to the north. The population is approximately 87,000 and the area spans about 744 square miles, with two thirds of the western part of the county being forest. National protected areas include the Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge and Siuslaw National Forest.
