Work Schedule: work 2 days, off 2 days; work 3 days, off 2 days; work 2 days; then off 3 days, and repeat. Shift schedule example: Week One: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Week Two: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday. In other words, 48 hours one week, 36 hours the next. 


Depending on qualifications the hourly rate could reach $36.75/hour (includes shift premium pay).



Summary:

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery (mono and multi-layer blown film lines, various conversion machines to create bags and box liners, clean room equipment), physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment

Become familiar with plant machinery, detect malfunction diagnose and repair

Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.

Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery; cleans and changes filters

Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.

Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment

Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment

Performs preventative maintenance on building and equipment

Orders maintenance/repair parts and supplies. Maintain stockroom inventory using maintenance software.

Occasionally will need to respond to emergency calls after hours.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

General knowledge of electrical circuits, motor circuits and 480 VAC power circuits.

Minimum 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; plastics manufacturing experience strongly preferred

Proven ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems common in injection molding or extrusion operations

Familiarity with plastic equipment such as extruders, chillers, blown film, and Material delivery systems

Skilled in fabrication and repair work using mills, lathes, welders, gas torches, and other machine shop tools

Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance on high-volume production machinery

Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals specific to plastic processing equipment

Demonstrated success working alongside production and engineering teams to minimize downtime in a plastics facility

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers or other employees of the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills Basic keyboard skills required which includes email, the input of work orders using Microsoft Excel and maintenance software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Preferred candidates will have a maintenance certificate that would typically include coursework in electrical wiring and schematics, HVAC/R, plumbing, reading blueprints, general carpentry, and tools of the trade.

Must possess your own tools. Machines are both metric and standard. Company has specialty tools for situation that are not common.
