Objective:

Lead the Logistics Team and help with all duties ensuring Pizzo Native Plant Nursery maintains high customer quality and expectations. Primary responsibilities include ensuring the customer receives the correct plants and quantity while ensuring all boxes are packaged properly and securely. The Logistics Team Lead will be under the direction of the Logistics Manager, and order fulfillment will be under the direction of the Order Fulfillment Manager and Order Fulfillment Team Lead.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Direct the logistics team on which carts to load first thing in the morning to prepare for shipping
• Match order number with the order number on the packing slip
• Verify the correct plants to the correct customer while watching for any damage to the trays or missing plugs
• Make sure the correct shipping labels are going on the boxes
• Direct the logistics team to reload supplies when required (ie netting/inserts/tape for tape machine)
• Direct the logistics team to help the carrier load the boxes onto the van and/or truck
  • If a feeder truck is required, it is essential that the skid steer is used to put the pallets of boxes onto the truck
  • If a van is sufficient, the boxes are handloaded into the van
• Willingness to occasionally stay late to accommodate later pickups
• Assist in scheduling when needed
  • Use packing slips to create shipping labels in SpeeDee Delivery Software and UPS Ground Ship
  • Use packing slips to schedule LTL pickups when required

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Ability to work outside 8 hours a day
• Attention to detail and ability to listen to instructions
• Strong self-motivation
• Willingness to work both independently and as a team
• Ability to repeatedly lift 30 pounds
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to learn how to use a skid steer and pallet jack

This is a seasonal role, scheduled to expire at the end of November, but schedule is subject to change based upon business needs.
