Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their unique situations.
• Collaboratively develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with the clients' needs, goals, and preferences, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Utilize therapeutic methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to deliver effective interventions.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, potential treatment paths, and essential self-care strategies, fostering a supportive environment for recovery.
• Monitor and document client progress meticulously, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as required for the best therapeutic outcomes.
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
• Stay informed on current mood disorder research and best practices to enhance treatment modalities.
• Maintain strict compliance with legal, ethical, and confidentiality standards in all documentation and interactions.
• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Advocate for the mental health needs of clients and assist in reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues in the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily involves working with clients suffering from mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Your expertise and compassionate approach will be crucial in helping individuals navigate their challenges, providing them with the tools necessary to improve their mental health and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building trust and rapport with clients.
• Empathy and an open-minded, nonjudgmental attitude toward client experiences.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time-management abilities to handle the dynamic nature of mental health counseling.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience providing therapy in a telehealth setting is advantageous.
• Experience working with a diverse clientele, particularly those facing stigma or underserved populations.
• Familiarity with evidence-based treatment methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
