Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – PRN

Location: Pine Acres Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation

About the Role

Pine Acres Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist to support residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. This role focuses on helping individuals regain and maintain essential communication and swallowing abilities following illness, surgery, or hospitalization.

This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully within an interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing function.

  • Develop individualized therapy plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.

  • Provide direct treatment to improve communication abilities and swallowing safety.

  • Train patients in compensatory strategies and assistive communication methods when needed.

  • Educate families and caregivers on support techniques and care strategies.

  • Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and therapy disciplines to coordinate care plans.

  • Participate in discharge planning and transition-of-care discussions.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.

  • Support compliance with Medicare and other applicable guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in North Carolina.

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows encouraged to apply.

  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a healthcare setting.

  • Prior experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation preferred but not required.
