Job Title - School Based Behavioral Health Clinician II
Department - Behavioral Health
Reports to - Director of Behavioral Health

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm (Work Schedule Follows Orange County School District Calendar, Mid-August through Mid-June)
About Position: The school based Behavioral Health Clinician II (BHCII) works as a part of a multidisciplinary school-based treatment team to facilitate the provision of holistic, whole-person behavioral health services and programming for students within a school based behavioral health center. The BHC II provides screening, consultation, education, evidence-based psychological interventions and treatment for students/families (patients) in the school based behavioral health center. The BHC II provides consultation and treatment planning support for the school system team (school counselors, school administrators, social workers, and teaching personnel) to meet the needs of individual students and school programs. The BHC II provides psychological interventions with students who are experiencing psychosocial issues, behavioral/mental health concerns, chronic illnesses, behavior change needs and/or substance use concerns. The BHC II is knowledgeable of and adheres to all policies, professional practice standards, philosophies and requirements for professional clinical practice. The BHC II follows all policies and procedures of the school system and liaisons frequently with the school system team.
***This is a 10 month role that follows the Orange County School District Calendar, Mid-August through Mid-June***
Minimum Qualifications -
Education:
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health discipline;

Licensure:
  • A valid North Carolina professional license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC);

Experience:
  • 3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in behavioral health, care coordination, or chronic disease management;
  • Experience working with diverse child and adolescent populations, addressing behavioral, emotional and developmental needs;
  • Experience with chronic medical and mental health conditions, preferred;

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, preferred;
  • Deep understanding of clinical workflows;
  • Able to handle stressful situations well;
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies;
  • Able to work effectively amongst multidisciplinary teams;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge of cross-cultural differences;
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills;
  • Commitment to our mission of improving health outcomes in underserved communities.
