Title: Logistics Specialist

Location: Lakewood, OH (Onsite)

Phalanx Logistics Solutions is growing, and we’re looking for a driven Logistics Specialist who is ready to build carrier relationships, solve problems, and play a critical role in keeping our customers’ freight moving.

Logistics is fast-paced, challenging, and constantly changing — no two days are the same.

In this role, you’ll work directly with carriers and internal teams to secure capacity, negotiate rates, execute shipments, and solve problems when things don’t go according to plan. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your relationships, knowledge, and responsibilities as part of the Phalanx team.

What You'll Do:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers to create reliable, long-term partnerships.
• Source and secure qualified carriers through calls, load boards, and our existing carrier network.
• Negotiate competitive carrier rates while balancing service, customer needs, and profitability.
• Manage freight execution from carrier selection through pickup and final delivery.
• Use our TMS (McLeod) to manage shipping documents, carrier confirmations, tracking, and shipment updates.
• Proactively identify and solve problems to keep freight and supply chains moving.
• Communicate closely with carriers, Account Management, Operations, and your Team Lead.
• Maintain accurate carrier and shipment information within our systems.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous logistics or transportation experience preferred, 1-2 years.
• A driven, team-oriented person who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Agile problem-solvers who can make smart decisions when priorities shift.
• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities at once.
• Someone who takes ownership, stays accountable, and is always looking for ways to improve.

Compensation and Perks:

• $50,000–$55,000 annual salary, based on experience.
• Bonus and growth opportunities.
• Onsite position at our Lakewood, Ohio headquarters.
