Perricone Farms is seeking a CDL Driver, for the Fort Pierce facility. This is a dynamic role that provides long-term, stable employment along with a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to health, vision, dental, life insurance, and a 401K plan.

Summary:

Responsible for operating trucks for the purpose of hauling, storage and accessibility. Assist with the needs of the Extraction team through various projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily, ensure trailers are in place for production staff to access materials easily.
  • Daily, move trailers between the yard and on-site and off-site cooler locations
  • As needed, take truck/trailers to weigh station.
  • Bring dump trailers around to pavement to empty trash receptacles.
  • As needed, operate fruit unloading ramp.
  • As needed, clean up fruit unloading area.
  • Operate forklift to load and unload drums, materials and other production items as needed.
  • Maintain a level of professionalism in attitude with staff.
  • Daily, ensure that you operate the trucks, forklift and other machinery, such as the electric pallet jack safely.
  • Assist in other areas of production as directed by Production Leads, Manager or other supervisory staff.
  • Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains telephone contact with supervisor to receive pickup and delivery instructions.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Performs pre and post trip inspections prior to checking truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • As needed performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.
  • Daily, adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Understands and comply with regulatory standards and certifications such as SQF, USDA and HACCP.
  • Ensure that all SQF, Organic, Non-GMO procedures are followed to prevent cross-contamination.
  • If Food and/or Employee safety is jeopardized, you are responsible for reporting unsafe conditions and/or acts to supervisor immediately. If possible, attempt to remedy the unsafe condition and/or act.
  • Adheres to and enforces company policies and safety regulations.
  • Responsible for understanding, complying with and implementing company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring the proper use of all machinery and creating a safe work environment.

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.

Organizational Relationships:

Position reports to Operations Manager.
