As a Manufacturing Engineer with The Modal Shop, you will apply your education, experience and expertise in the launch of new product designs into manufacturing, to make process improvements and to solve manufacturing problems.
Additional Duties:
  • Interprets mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications to develop manufacturing work instructions, processes, routers, procedures and test protocols.
  • Conducts prototype manufacturing builds to test and evaluate product and process designs and revisions.
  • Works in close collaboration with other engineering teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Quality in the launch of new products and the manufacturing support of existing products.
  • Develops and designs basic tools and fixtures, researches and specifies manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Creates and maintains accurate mechanical drawings, schematics, technical specifications and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Provides documentation on assembly methods and test procedures.
  • Conducts failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues.
  • Provides technical assistance in matters of products, materials, equipment and processes.
  • I dentify and implement efficiency improvements related for design for manufacturability and product assembly.
  • P erform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Internship, Co-Op or equivalent industry experience. Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Travel Requirement: May travel up to 5% to visit customers, vendors, suppliers, other company locations, affiliates, attend technical meetings, trade shows or conferences.
