Location: St. John’s / St. Augustine, FL
Compensation: $26–$29 per hour (based on experience)

Paz Music & Arts Academy of St. John’s is expanding and seeking experienced, motivated, and personable music instructors to join our growing team in our brand-new, purpose-built studio.

We are a family-owned and family-run academy with nearly four decades of experience in music education. Our instructors include active performers, seasoned educators, and music degree candidates who share a passion for teaching and inspiring students of all ages.

This is an excellent opportunity for musicians looking for steady, consistent teaching work in a professional, supportive, and well-organized environment—without the burden of scheduling, billing, or marketing.

What We Offer

Teaching Schedule

All lessons are taught onsite during the following hours:

  • Tuesday: 12:00–8:00 PM
  • Wednesday / Friday: 4:00–8:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

Instructors are scheduled for specific time blocks based on availability and student demand.

Position Responsibilities

  • Teach private music lessons (primarily 30-minute sessions)
  • Create a fun, encouraging, and structured learning environment
  • Communicate music concepts and fundamentals clearly to students of varying ages and skill levels
  • Adapt lesson plans to individual student needs, goals, and learning styles
  • Track student progress and provide constructive, positive feedback
  • Maintain a professional, organized studio presence
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and academy staff

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong understanding of music fundamentals and basic music theory
  • Experience teaching music lessons (formal or informal)
  • Comfortable working with children; ability to engage students of all ages
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Positive attitude with an outgoing, encouraging teaching style

Formal music degrees are not required. Candidates must have one or more of the following:

  • Music degree (completed or in progress)
  • Professional performing experience
  • Prior teaching experience

If you teach any one of the listed instruments, we’d love to hear from you. Teaching multiple instruments is a bonus, but not required.
