Role Description The Alternative Medicine Practitioner is a full-time, on-site role based in Medway, MA. The practitioner will conduct patient consultations, take detailed health histories, and develop individualized treatment plans using appropriate alternative and complementary therapies. Daily responsibilities include performing treatments, monitoring patient progress, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and coordinating care with other providers when needed. The practitioner will educate patients on lifestyle, nutrition, and self-care practices, ensure adherence to safety and ethical standards, and contribute to maintaining a welcoming, professional clinic environment. The role may also involve participating in practice development activities such as patient outreach, workshops, or educational events.
Qualifications
  • Relevant training or certification in alternative or complementary medicine (e.g., naturopathy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, homeopathy, integrative health), with appropriate licenses or registrations as required by Massachusetts law.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills, including taking comprehensive health histories, evaluating patient symptoms, and developing evidence-informed treatment plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a commitment to respectful, inclusive, and non-judgmental interactions with patients and colleagues.
  • Solid documentation and organizational skills, including maintaining accurate patient records, treatment notes, and follow-up plans.
  • Knowledge of holistic wellness, nutrition, lifestyle counseling, and mind-body practices that can support patient outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently in a small-practice setting while collaborating effectively with other health professionals as needed.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in alternative and integrative medicine.
  • Prior experience in a clinical or patient-facing healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
