Job description

PathWell is currently seeking compassionate individuals to volunteer with our organization. As a hospicevolunteer, you will have the opportunity to provide support and comfort to patients and their families during a challenging time. Hospice volunteers are essential members of the hospice team. Volunteers provide
companionship to people living with a serious illness who might be near the end of life.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit with patients and provide companionship
  • Assist with errands and household tasks as needed
  • Listen and offer emotional support to patients and families
  • Provide respite care for caregivers
  • Participate in activities with patients, such as playing games or reading
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must complete hospice volunteer training program
  • Must be able to commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Compassionate and empathetic toward others
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable with providing emotional support
  • Comfortable with end-of-life issues
