Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to create individualized treatment plans tailored to the needs and cultural backgrounds of each patient.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of mental health interventions continually and adjust treatment strategies to best support patient progress.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including treatment records and reports, in compliance with regulatory requirements while demonstrating competence with relevant technology.
• Collaborate closely with patients and the multidisciplinary team to devise comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans, incorporating feedback from family members when appropriate.
• Utilize evidence-based treatment modalities to deliver outpatient therapy, ensuring interventions are aligned with best practices in mental health care.
• Facilitate referrals and provide a supportive link between patients and additional treatment providers, fostering strong professional relationships with external agencies.
• Contribute to the development of future clinicians by providing education, mentoring, and supervision to students, interns, residents, and volunteers.
• Participate in peer review processes and clinical collaboration sessions as directed by your supervisor to enhance team performance and professional growth.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be responsible for providing care to a diverse patient population that includes individuals from various cultural backgrounds and walks of life. Understanding the unique challenges and concerns that these patients face, you will apply culturally sensitive approaches to assessment and intervention. Our clinic serves a range of mental health concerns, from anxiety and depression to more complex psychological conditions, and your expertise will be vital in fostering meaningful connections that support healing.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution, coupled with current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
• A minimum of six months to one year of clinical experience, ideally in a health or mental health setting, to ensure you bring valuable insights into the therapeutic process.
• Strong knowledge of the aging process, human development stages, and cultural considerations to effectively provide tailored care.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient mental health settings with knowledge of various treatment modalities and interventions.
• Previous roles in community health clinics or similar environments that emphasize integrated care delivery.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and associated data management systems.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current on best practices in the field.

Compensation and Benefits

Pathway Counseling Clinic offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 105,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
