Position Overview

Pathway Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a specialization in addiction counseling and geriatric care. Work Environment

This position operates in a fully remote setting via telehealth, allowing flexibility for both our counselors and clients. The telehealth model enables counselors to connect with elderly clients in the comfort of their homes, promoting ease and accessibility of services. Our workweek is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring a stable routine for both staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents, identifying their individual care needs and developing personalized treatment plans.
• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, employing therapeutic techniques to help clients cope with emotional challenges stemming from aging, loss, and significant life transitions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams comprising physicians, social workers, and nurses to create holistic care plans that enhance the quality of life for geriatric residents.
• Educate families and caregiver staff on effective strategies to promote mental well-being and emotional resilience among elderly individuals.
• Provide specialized grief and loss counseling, supporting residents and their families through end-of-life issues and fostering a compassionate environment during difficult times.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs and innovative mental health interventions to bolster cognitive function and encourage social engagement among elderly clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position is dedicated to serving a diverse population of elderly clients who may be navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, and various age-related issues. Our counselors aim to foster a supportive and respectful environment, recognizing the unique backgrounds and experiences of each individual we serve.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license.
• Minimum of four years of recent experience in geriatric counseling and mental health services.
• Specialized training or certifications in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues preferred.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based interventions and methodologies applicable to mental health support for seniors.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on connecting with older adults empathetically.
• Commitment to ethical standards and legal compliance in geriatric mental health counseling.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in developing and facilitating cognitive and emotional assessments tailored to the elderly population.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote counseling techniques.
• Proven record of teamwork and collaboration in a multidisciplinary health environment.
• Ability to navigate and adapt to diverse cultural backgrounds and individual needs among elderly clients.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications, alongside a potential sign-on bonus. Our benefits package includes:
