College Coach

POSITION SUMMARY

As a College Coach at Path to College, you will support our students as they participate in our program and apply to college. Most of your responsibilities will focus on student-facing tasks that are centered around relationship building and operations maintenance. You will represent Path to College in the community by leading student recruitment sessions and outreach workshops throughout local high schools and with community partners. In addition, you will perform administrative tasks to support the academic fellowship and outreach programs. We currently have a hybrid remote/in-person work model to adapt to the needs of each student. There will also be in-person events throughout the year that you will help prepare the students for.

EXPECTATIONS

To be on time to work with students and staff. To display empathy and positivity for them. To help them manage their time and projects. And to encourage them to overcome their challenges and focus on their goals.

Main projects include: college and scholarship applications, resume writing, community impact proposals, and ED-Talks, which occur during our yearly signature event, EDFest.

Weekly commitments include: attending Fellowship meetings on Wednesdays, checking in with the cohort, putting in advisor updates, and attending a weekly meeting with the Academic Program Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Current college student in pursuit of a Bachelors degree or recent graduate preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Effective and active listening skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team.

ACCESS TO VULNERABLE POPULATIONS

All staff members have contact with vulnerable populations and are required to complete a National Service Criminal History Check.
