SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Material Handler III under general supervision, handles and maintains flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Physically transfers materials, maintains bench stock, and handles completed assemblies/jobs between work areas or cost centers.
  • Locates materials and expedites part shortages within the plant that may be required for completion of assemblies.
  • Verifies and maintains stock documentation and shortage reports.
  • Utilizes small hand tools and operates material handling equipment including for lifts, skids, pallet handlers, hand trucks, and the like.
  • May use computer applications and computers to maintain accurate material flow transactions.
  • May provide work leadership to lower level handlers.
  • Assist with shipping and/or receiving responsibilities.
  • Assist in establishing guidelines and procedures by which material handling function operates.
  • Records movement of incoming and outgoing material and supplies and verifies the accuracy of work performed.
  • May operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
  • May provide work leadership and training to lower level Material Handlers.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong reading, writing and numerical/math skills
  • Computer knowledge
  • At least four years related warehouse/stockroom/receiving experience
