Overview
The Civil EIT/EI - Water Resources supports the planning, analysis and engineering design of water resources infrastructure and development including water distribution, supply and storage, wastewater collection and related infrastructure. This role collaborates closely with project managers, engineers (sometimes multi-disciplinary) and technical teams to develop and deliver high quality, innovative, timely, sustainable and compliant design solutions. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and interested in developing technical expertise in water resources engineering while supporting projects from planning through construction while being comfortable working in both office and field environments. This is a full-time position, paid on a salary basis.

Parkhill is one of the largest architectural and engineering firms in the Southwest with 15 offices located throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning (capital improvement plans), analysis and design and coordination of water resources(public and private) infrastructure, including water distribution, supply and storage, wastewater collection and related civil projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to develop project proposals, scopes, schedules and fee estimates.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines (as necessary), clients, regulatory agencies, and outside consultants throughout project development.
  • Support the demands of planning and modeling using industry -standard software, technical reports, regulatory compliance, and permitting (TCEQ, etc.).
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design documents, and construction plans under the guidance of licensed engineers.
  • Review project details to proactively manage risk and identify potential technical challenges, assisting in developing practical engineering solutions.
  • Evaluate observations and systems that will withstand the elements on the installation site.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to technical discussions, project planning and design reviews collaborate on timelines and deliverables.
  • Conduct field visits/investigations, site assessments, and construction observations under minimal supervision to support design development and project delivery.
  • Communicate project status and needs effectively with internal and external stakeholders and maintain accurate project documentation while supporting quality control and quality assurance processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) certification required.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and other civil design software preferred.
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering design principles, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while managing multiple assignments.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in water resources related civil engineering discipline.
  • Familiarity with field observation and construction administration tasks.
