Employment Overview:

Skilled and unskilled workers needed for a growing second-generation 20+ year family-owned company that services local customers in the Mid-Michigan area and also warehouse customers across the nation. We will train you to become a highly skilled and sought-after trades person. Our work is a cross between indoor and outdoor work. We offer variable hours, potential for fully paid travel, benefits and plenty of overtime. Some weekend work and overtime will be expected of you as some of our customers can only be serviced on weekends. While outdoor striping takes place only during the warm season here in Michigan, our indoor striping is nationwide and happens all year round.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Operate Specialized Equipment: Use hand-guided and laser-guided airless paint striping machines, walk behind and ride on liners, thermoplastic applicators, and epoxy spray machines to apply a wide range of materials in both indoor and outdoor environments. Master the skills of setting up and operating our equipment to complete jobs with accuracy, precision and straightness.

·        Precision Layout: Read blueprints, site plans and develop design, measuring, math, geometry and problem-solving skills to accurately layout parking areas, cross hatching drives, lanes, staging, bulk storage, egress ADA markings, directional markings, and custom stencils.

·        Surface Preparation: Perform necessary surface prep, including shotblasting, cleaning, blowing to ensure proper adhesion of marking materials.

·        Safety Compliance: Set up work zones, adhere to OSHA safety standards, and maintain a clean and safe worksite and procedures.

·        Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks, cleaning, maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles, trailers, machines, equipment and tools.

·        Customer Relations: Meet with and coordinate with various customers, be flexible on changing plans and coming up with creative solutions to suit each customer’s needs.

Requirements:

·        Experience: Previous experience in line striping, pavement marking, precision work or a skilled trade is preferred. Training provided for entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic.

·        Physical Ability: Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload heavy equipment, materials, and stencils.

·        Attention to Detail: Keen eye for precise, straight lines and accurate measurements. Good vision is a must.

·        Reliability: Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR is often required, especially for roles involving travel or company vehicles and trailers.

Our work requires someone willing to expand their current skills or learn a whole new set of skills. There is a lot of potential growth for those capable and willing to put in the effort to become a valuable part of a growing 20+ year family-owned company. While a lot of what we do requires a comfortable understanding of arithmetic, geometry and basic 2D engineering, a college degree is not necessary, but a desire to learn a very rewarding set of skills is a must.
