Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of students, focusing on emotional, social, and mental health needs.
  • Collaborate closely with students and their families to create tailored care plans that align with specific academic and personal goals.
  • Provide counseling and emotional support, facilitating discussions to help students manage life transitions, stressors, and potential academic challenges.
  • Act as an advocate for students, ensuring they have access to requisite resources, including school services and community programs.
  • Engage with interdisciplinary teams, including educators, mental health professionals, and school nurses, to coordinate effective interventions and enhance the overall educational experience.
  • Monitor student progress through regular check-ins, home visits, or virtual sessions to ensure ongoing support and adjustment of care plans as necessary.
  • Assist families with communication strategies and conflict resolution in order to foster a supportive home environment for the student’s success.
  • Educate families about the range of available resources, such as support groups, counseling services, and educational programs aimed at enhancing social skills and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate and chronological documentation of assessments, care plans, and client interactions in accordance with ethical standards and organizational policies.
  • Stay updated with current best practices in social work and educational mental health services, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on students enrolled in our remote schooling program, who may face a variety of psychosocial challenges impacting their academic performance and emotional well-being. Our students represent a diverse community with unique requirements that necessitate individualized approaches to care.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in social work, preferably within educational settings or with adolescent populations.
  • Proficient understanding of social work principles, educational policies, and developmental issues specific to children and adolescents.
  • Demonstrated counseling, assessment, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport and foster trusting relationships with students and families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, conducive to working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain up-to-date student records and care documentation.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing mental health services within a school or community setting.
  • Knowledge of community resources and programs dedicated to youth mental health and wellness.
  • Experience in conducting family interventions and providing support in crisis situations.
  • Familiarity with telehealth practices and virtual counseling techniques.
