Salary: $19-24/hourly

About the Role

A Bachelor's degree is preferred for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) II position at El Monte. The DSP provides compassionate, person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs support clients in daily living activities, community involvement, and personal growth, promoting independence and dignity in all aspects of life. This role involves direct care, advocacy, and skill-building in a respectful and person-centered manner.


We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a DSP, you will help individuals live more independently and participate actively in their communities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals in community integration, recreational activities, and social engagement.
  • Document daily activities, progress notes, and incidents accurately and timely.
  • Encourage and support individuals in achieving personal goals and independence.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and team members.
  • Uphold the rights, dignity, and confidentiality of all individuals served.
  • Assist individuals with personal care tasks such as dressing and toileting, etc.
  • Facilitate participation in community activities, social events, and recreational outings.
  • Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift, move, and assist individuals as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to person-centered care.
  • Must pass background check, health screening, and possess a valid drivers license


Shift & Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
  • Work performed in Day Program and Community-Based settings
