ABOUT PALIHOTEL SEATTLE

Location, location, location! Our intimate, fun, contemporary boutique hotel sits directly across from Downtown Seattle's famed Pike Place Market and the Elliott Bay waterfront — 96 thoughtfully designed rooms, our award-winning restaurant and bar, The Hart and The Hunter, and a lobby built to feel like a neighborhood living room for travelers and locals alike.

POSITION PROFILE

The Engineer is a hands-on problem solver who keeps Palihotel Seattle running safely and smoothly — from patching walls to troubleshooting HVAC, no repair is too big or too small. You'll balance day-to-day fixes with proactive maintenance, keeping the property guest-ready and code-compliant.

THE TASK AT HAND

  1. Conduct ongoing room and property inspections to identify and address repair needs.

  2. Perform general repairs including drywall, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and furniture/fixture fixes.

  3. Install, replace, and program guest room televisions.

  4. Maintain and repair HVAC systems, heating/cooling pumps, and water lines, and troubleshoot kitchen equipment.

  5. Maintain accurate repair and preventative maintenance records, adhering to all local, state, and federal codes.

  6. Practice safe work habits, complying with MSDS and OSHA standards.

  7. Support the operations team, including House Person duties, during busy periods or staffing shortages.

  8. Work a flexible schedule based on hotel occupancy and emergency repair needs.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in general repair and building maintenance.

  • Extensive knowledge of AC systems and refrigeration.

  • Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Professional skilled trade licensing in plumbing and electrical.

Physical

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout a shift.

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
