AsaSenior Financial Reporting Analyst IIyou'llmove Pacific Life, and your career, forwardbysupporting accounting andfinancialreportingover the Consumer Markets divisional products.You will fill an existing role that sitsina teamof insurance accounting subject matter expertswithin the Enterprise Accounting and Reporting group. Your colleagues will includeaccounting, finance, enterprise systems, and actuarialprofessionals.


How you'llhelp move us forward:

  • Execution of quarterly accounting and reportingtasks,including processing and review and approval of journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of results to ensure completeness and accuracy of account balances.

  • Preparation and review of various financial reporting requirements, including quarterly and annual GAAP and statutory financial statements, compliance requests, and internal management requests.

  • Coordinate with subject matter experts and business partners in actuarial, accounting, reporting, tax, financial planning & analysis, and technology teams.

  • Validate impacts of specific business events are accurately represented in our accounting results.

  • Understand and communicate key drivers of financial results to key stakeholders throughout financial close processthrough preparation of fluctuation analysis of quarterly results, including presentation of results to management and utilization of tools and technology to generate data visualizations and data driven insights.

  • Support finance transformation initiatives including automation of existing manual processes, business process redesign and acceleration of the accounting close process.

  • May lead functional teams or projects.

  • Understand and apply accounting and financial reporting principles, insurance knowledge, and general business acumen.

  • Proactively learn relevant systems, products, and business models.

  • Proactively engage in knowledge sharing and peer training.

Theexperience you bring:

  • 8+ years of experiencein relevant field.

  • 4-year accounting degree or equivalent experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.

  • Ability to managemultipleresponsibilities under tight time frames.

  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to workindependentlyin deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong accountability, customer focus, collaboration, and a team player.

  • Comfortable with collaborating with all different levels of management.

  • A desire to mentor colleagues with less experience.

Whatmakes youstand out:

  • Insurance industry experience

  • Experience or certification with PeopleSoft, Oracle,Appian,Essbase, WDesk or ARCs

  • CPA candidacy or licensure

  • Public accounting experience

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$124,830.00 - $152,570.00
