The Speech Language Pathologist will enjoy a consistent caseload. Evaluate and deliver therapy services to adults and school-aged children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group homes, adult day programs and/or outpatient medical facilities.
Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and develops therapeutic plans to address oral motor, communication, and feeding needs of the PWS and provides Speech and Language Habilitation/Rehabilitation services for the patient as ordered by a physician.
  • Treats PWS with disabilities, disorders, and injuries related to the area of Speech Language Pathology.
  • Makes use of therapeutic devices and other equipment to prevent regression or restore maximum performance of speech and language modalities.
  • Plans, directs and supervises PWS, family and/or significant other in the use of equipment and exercise regimen
  • Participates in patient communication and interdisciplinary care planning for individual patient needs.
  • Contemporaneous documentation using electronic health records
  • Meet productivity expectation
  • Participate in scheduled supervision

Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)
  • Current SLP New York State License or qualifies for receiving license after completing all requirements
  • Current Certificate of Clinical completion in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association or qualifies for receiving certificate after completing all requirements
  • Meets the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
  • A minimum of one year Speech Therapy experience in a health care setting working with individuals with Developmental Delays preferred.

Preferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above)
  • Experience with the I/DD population (2+ years is preferable)
  • Dysphagia experience, a big plus
  • AAC experience strongly preferred but not required

Salary: $68,139.00 Annually
